Did you know we have olfactory receptors in our skin?! That’s right! That was the subject of the

presentation by Emmanuelle Corbin of Lucas Meyer Cosmetics at Making Cosmetics 2021.

Making Cosmetics 2021 is a cosmetic fair with the aim of introducing the latest in ingredients,

formulations, technologies and services from the cosmetic and personal care industry. It was held in

Milan at the MiCo (Milano Congressi) on the 25th and 26th of November.

As Emotion Master

Students, we were able to visit the fair and attend presentations on the newest discoveries in the

field, such as the impact of preservatives on the skin microbiota and the efectiveness of new

compounds of interest (for instance: skin probiotics), subjects we have been studying in-depth in the

masters and now we got the opportunity to see real-world applications.

In addition to the presentations, we were able to get in touch and share ideas with some companies

that were present in the stands, mostly distributors in the area of cosmetics from different parts of

Europe, mainly **based in Italy.

In general, it was a great experience for us to see what’s new on the market and for networking!
